Soluta.Net is finally glad to announce the release of its Open Group Architecture Framework v9 (TOGAF9) extension to Adaptive Enterprise Architecture Manager (EAM).
TOGAF is a metamodel developed by the Open Group for applying Enteprise Architecture. Soluta.Net has implemented the B phase of TOGAF9, named “Business Architecture” in the Adaptive metamodel repository. The key concepts required by TOGAF9 step B have been mapped to a set of UML2 metamodels and other profiles and modeling notations, namely the Business Motivation Model (BMM), Business Process Definition Metamodel (BPDM), Service oriented architecture Modeling Language (SoaML), Organization Structure Metamodel (OSM) and Reusable Asset Specification (RAS).
This solution allows Soluta.Net's customers to model and store Structural, Functional, Technical and Governance Architectures as reusable assets. Business Process models can be stored and imported from existing BPMN models (where available), Process/Event/Control/Product catalogs are also described in the BPMN.
Business Services can be modelled or stored via SoaML or in alternative from pre-existing WSDL or UDDI specifications. This can help enterprise organizations to create a comprehensive viewpoint over their SOA architectures across Business Processes and Organization Structure.
The Soluta.Net's TOGAF extension supports harvesting of requirements using diagrams and matrices. TOGAF also supports the Product Lifecycle diagram: the purpose is to assist in understanding the life-cycles of key entities within the enterprise.
“With this effort, Soluta.Net is extending it's customers offers by employing TOGAF, a non-proprietary EA methodology using the MDA open standard; this guarantees a high ROI to our customers and avoids the vendor lock-in syndrome: the IT does not deserve a YASM (yet-another-methodology)” - Pierfranco Ferronato, CTO of Soluta.Net.
